The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) is a survey that creates a ranking list of countries according to the assessment of the prevalence of corruption in them, i.e. the extent to which public authorities are perceived to be corrupt. The index of a given country indicates the level of perception of corruption in the public sector on a scale from 0 to 100, where 0 represents a country that is perceived as highly corrupt, while one rated at 100 is perceived as a country free from corruption.
The countries that are ranked highest show that the transparency of the system promotes social responsibility and reduces corruption. In more corrupt countries, one of the biggest challenges is corruption in the public sector, especially in areas such as political parties, the police and the judiciary.
Transparency International Croatia organizes a conference to discuss the results, especially for Croatia (2014, 2013)
