Fight against corruption should not be subject of daily political fight

January 26, 2014

Transparency International Croatia agrees with everyone who judges the fact that Branko Šegon is still on his position of Deputy Minister of Finance, but warns that this affair should not become one of the subjects in political daily fight.

“This case is marked by shortages of moral responsibility by deputy minister, it should not become even worse by making of it a subject of daily political fight between Kukuriku coalition and HDZ. We are very interested to see what will be the decision of the Commission for conflict of interest about this case and the results of the investigation in the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development. On the other hand we expect from Croatian politicians to work more on suppression of corruption and not just to speak about it.” Davorka Budimir president of Transparency International Croatia.
