Transparency International Croatia is appealing to leaderships of political parties, both those in rule and in opposition, in order to protect and cleanse the political space from irresponsible individuals with no personal integrity.  <\/p>\n

„The fact that legal regulations are not preventing the removal of irresponsible and corrupted individuals from the political arena doesn't mean that the leaderships of political parties can't regulate shortages in candidacy procedures that stop the development of the society in whole.<\/p>\n

Limiting candidacies from local to national level would be possible with very simple partisan rules -if there was a political will to replace the main advancement criterion of obedience and suitability with personal integrity and fairness of an individual.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Croatian society still lacks that level of political culture where an irresponsible individual in public service would step away from his duty if there is a slightest doubt that he's not performing his duty justly and with responsibility", highlighted Davorka Budimir, president of TIC.<\/p>\n
