What measures can be implemented to prevent frauds and corruption in the management of the money from European Structural and Investment Funds?<\/p>\n

Until 2020, the European Union will invest through structural and investment funds more then 325 billion euros. This amount of money has for goal to allow a sustainable development and balanced economic growth in the European regions through various ESI funds (5): the European regional development fund (ERDF), the Cohesion fund (CF), the European Social Fund (ESF), the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EARDF) and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Transparency international Croatia has suggested concrete measures to prevent corruption in the using of the ESI funds:<\/p>\n 1. development of new culture of transparency built on accountability and partnership <\/p>\n Joining the EU is very stimulated for developing further Croatia. We are very glad that we have a firm support of European commission in this field. This gathering is the testimony of that feeling. Transparency International Croatia has always pleaded for the implementation of the highest EU standards in Croatia. Joining these values with the resources of European structural and investment funds will help us build a better Europe for the new generations. We strongly believe that government officials and all other users of European funds will understand the importance of the responsibility that they have in their hands now.
